How much gas do I have left?

When you lift the lid of your tank you will see a round gauge about 2” in diameter. The needle will point to the amount (percent, not gallons) you have left.

Propane Safety

If you smell gas, immediately put out all smoking materials and any open flames. In addition, do not use any cell phones, landline telephones, appliances or lights as sparks or flames from these sources may trigger an explosion or fire. If you smell propane gas that you think might be leaking, immediately leave the area and evacuate the area or building where you suspect that gas might be leaking. Once you've left the area, you should try to shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank, once it is safe to do so.

Once you have exited the area and are a safe distance from the source of the propane gas smell, you should report the leak from a neighbor's home or other nearby location by calling Houston County Propane immediately at 931-236-4440. If you can't reach us for some reason, call 911 or your local the fire department immediately. More than anything, don't re-enter the building until your propane retailer or fire department has determined that it is ok to do so.

Finally, you should always have a qualified and trained service technician from your local propane retailer perform a complete system check and any of your propane appliances to be sure they remain completely free of leaks before you attempt using them.
